Do Nutrisystem meals contain diet pill chemicals like dexitrim or how do they let you make things like cakes and stuff work?

Has anyone ever taught you how to use a search engine?

Here you go. I got that by typing "how nutrisystem works" into google.

To the second poster, chill out. Nothing wrong with asking a question on a board accessible to people who might have first hand experience in the matter. Google is great, but first hand experience is probably better.

M, chill out girly. People have room to ask questions. lol

And I'm just curious, I'm not pissed off or anything. Why are you suddenly asking all these questions about diet pills and things like that? Again, I'm just curious.

It's all about portion control and portion sizes. My sister, who is learning nursing, has seen a lot of cases of young people getting heart attacks because they went on super high protein diet, so a diet that excludes a food group or multiple food groups can be very dangerous for you. Also a diet that allows for no treats or sweets is just not susteinable. The point of a diet must be to teach people better eating habits, not to forbid them to eat sweets.
So, as I understand it, this is one of the systems that regulate your calory intake, don't they even deliver the meals to you ready for cooking? so they help you eat a balanced diet with more modest calory counts, which does not have to mean you cannot ever eat pizza or cake etc.
Diet pills are more aimed towards a quick gain (or loss really), for instant success by rapping up your heart rate or metabolism, or preventing the body from digesting the fat (Alli), some drugs are trying to alter chemical signals in the brain to eliviate the feel of hunger and prevent snacking, those have not been very successful so far.
I think there is a place for all of this, it may be good (though there are risks and you have to use judgements) to get some supplements and even diet pills in moderation to kick start your weight loss, combine it with modest amounts of work out that build. But you can also switch to a controled calory intake systems and these are more for longterm success and weight management, as opposed to weight loss.
Do your research and combine any diet with a work out plan that lets you get cardio at lesat 30 minutes, at lesat 4 times a week ideally with some weight lifting or different types of cardio, combine all that with a different diet and, if you feel up to it add some caffeine type pill to it, though never do even the recommended doze, I'd go for half the recommended doze at most.

The best diet you can have is no potatoes, bread, or pastas for 3 weeks. I guarantee you, if you get on that diet, you will lose weight. You can eat sweets and all that, but of course you'd want to limit that.

I've heard many good things about nutrisystem. Personally, I don't like the taste, but other people say they do, so it's really about what works best for you.

nutrasystem tastes like crap and is expensive. most of the stuff is extremely high n sodium as well.

the best diet is exercise combined with portion control and limmiting the stuff that is bad for us. boring, yes, slower then a nutrasystem ture, but if we follow it we keep the weight off longer. diet shouldn't bee the goal. changing our life style shouls be the strived for result.

I've heard of some plans where you actually evaluate your body type, and plan your diet and exercise programs around that. Then you'll be doing what's best for your particular body. I know the adds say one diet will work for all, but from what I've heard, that's not always true.

A very successful diet / lifestyle change is to designate one day a week where you can go overboard and have fun and eat or drink what you like, rest of the week you stick to calory counting/healthy choices etc, and work out at leat 4 times a week, at lesat 30 minutes (or you can work out more often in shorter bursts).
A glass of water before lunch and before dinner helps a lot with appetite control, like I think I said earlier.
Check weight watcher online recipes for ideas about all sorts of things and portion control is the key.
If you stick with these, you do not need expensive sodeum high Nutrasystem meals.

Just avoid the diet pills. Plain and simple. If you eat the way I just told you about, you will lose weight guaranteed. A lot of business try to sell you something that isn't necessary for your body and is by no means good for your health. So be careful when someone tries to offer you some pills that they say work, but can ruin your health in the end. People have died from some of those pills.

Did you know that some of the older diet pills actually had tapeworms in them? That's how they worked. That's disgusting.

I agree with Ocean about nuetresystem..it tasted aweful! However, it does work if you can get past the taste..I was on it years ago before they changed the food stuff around it tasted fine..then about a year in a half ago I got back on it and I couldn't stomach the food..the taste was so nasty!
